Board of Directors Dinner Meeting
Thursday April 29, 2010.
All Nations Church, Rm D419 , 7:00pm.
Meeting called to order 6:55pm
Present: Lee Diebold, Katherine Carpenter, Michael Carpenter. Randy Horton.
Joel Druckman.
Shayna Labeouf
Absent Excused: Cathy Horton. Brian Song, Phyllis Hines.
Guests: Skeeter Mann & Wife.. Octavio Sanchez. Randy’s two attendants.
Minutes presented and approved without comment.
Program Manager Report:
Still waiting for any updates regarding the appeals against NHF Chapter 11
decision. Will be contacting NHF for an update and to arrange future contacts.
Have filed with the IRS the SS-4 for the EIN#, Calif. Secretary of State
for Statement of Information & FTB for the Address Verification. Also
completed the Legal Zoom on line 501 c3 application. Figure on a 60-90 window
that will allow opening up the checking account and having the “held” funds
from ANC to be transferred along with the other checks.
Old Business:
M CARPENTER. Presented our speaker, Lane Bensko, President of “Ride
for a Cure.” Another local 501 c3, who have held their event the past
two years at Gibson Ranch. All Nations Church & NHOER have sponsored
both times. They have asked again, for ANC to allow overflow parking for
the October 2nd 2010 event. Program Manager will move this along. He welcomes
future discussions with NHOER on working together.
J DRUCKMAN. Made contact with Michael MeMeel of Inner City Slickers. They
are interested in some kind of joint event with inner city youth. Mr. McMeel
will be in the area in May and will be invited to the next meeting. The Hansen
Dam Camp Grounds should be ready for use Spring 2011.
New Business
R HORTON. Cathy Horton is resigning from the Board due to going to school.
Accepted.
L DIEBOLD. To nominate Skeeter Mann to the board. Motion approved 6-0.
J DRUCKMAN. Asked that Supervisor Michael Antonovich be contacted & a
rep from his
Office invited to a future meeting. Program Manager will follow up.
L DIEBOLD. Introduced Octavio Sanchez, Johny Carpenter’s original ranch
cook, who gave
a testimony about his time with Johny.
S LABEOUF. Will be inviting Kathy Richardson (Local horse owner) to a future
meeting.
M CARPENTER. Follow up with IRS, Secretary of State & FTB Exemption Application
with all filings. The next item to attend to is formalizing the By Laws & Meeting
Minutes. Bring to the next meeting.
Announcements
Michael Carpenter was elected to the Foothill Trails District Neighborhood
Council.
Next Meeting
The next NHOER Board Meeting will be May 27th, 2010 7pm. Location TBA.
